Frequently Asked Questions
What is telehealth counselling?
Telehealth counselling offers professional support via video or phone call, allowing you to connect with a qualified counsellor from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Are online counselling sessions as effective as in-person sessions?
Yes. Research shows that telehealth sessions can be just as effective as face-to-face counselling for many people, particularly when it comes to talk-based therapy.
What do I need for a telehealth session?
A quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone (like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone) is all you need to get started. Island Counselling uses the Zoom platform for telehealth sessions.
Can I access telehealth if I live on Phillip Island?
Absolutely. Even if you're based on Phillip Island or nearby, telehealth remains an option. I work with clients from across the Bass Coast and beyond, and online sessions offer added flexibility. I do encourage in-person sessions when possible, particularly for our first meeting, as it can help build a strong foundation.
Is telehealth counselling secure and confidential?
Yes. Sessions are conducted through secure platforms that protect your privacy. Everything shared is treated with the same care and confidentiality as in-person appointments.

A Bit More About Priscilla
I grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have always embraced change as a natural part of life. After completing university, I built a successful corporate career, started my own pet food business, then returned to the corporate world before deciding to follow a new path. I completed my Master of Counselling and haven’t looked back. Having navigated many transitions myself, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with change.
With my husband moving into semi-retirement, we made our long-awaited move to Millowl, Phillip Island, where I’m enjoying a more balanced way of living and a stronger connection to the local community. I have two beautiful Old English Sheepdogs who keep me active, and I love getting outdoors with them to explore the island. Staying fit is important to me, and so is balancing time between family, friends, and solitude. I ride a motorcycle and have a passion for MotoGP, love cooking, and enjoy good conversation. Life is full of transitions, some planned, some unexpected, and I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my counselling approach, offering a space where you can navigate your own path with confidence, clarity and understanding. |
