Transitions & Wellbeing

Life is full of transitions, from stepping into adulthood and navigating career or family changes to approaching retirement and adjusting to later life. These changes can bring excitement, but they can also feel overwhelming, leading to uncertainty, anxiety, stress, or a sense of loss. Grief is a natural part of these transitions, whether it's mourning a loved one, the end of a relationship, the loss of a pet, concerns or letting go of a previous way of life. These experiences can be deeply emotional, leaving you feeling unmoored or struggling to adjust.

At Island Counselling, I provide a safe, supportive space to help you process these transitions with confidence and resilience. Whether you're struggling with life change, loneliness, health issues or grief, I offer compassionate counselling tailored to your unique needs.

Together, we can explore ways to navigate challenges, maintain meaningful connections, and discover new sources of purpose and joy at every stage of life.

Relationships & Connections

Strong, supportive relationships are essential for our emotional well-being, yet they can sometimes be challenging to maintain. Life transitions, distance, or changes in priorities can impact friendships, family bonds, and romantic partnerships.

At Island Counselling, I help individuals and couples navigate these challenges, whether it’s rebuilding social connections, improving communication, or strengthening relationships.

For couples, I provide a safe space to address concerns, deepen understanding, and foster greater emotional connection.

For individuals, whether young adults, adults, or older adults, I offer guidance on overcoming loneliness, re-establishing friendships, and maintaining fulfilling social ties. No matter your stage of life, building and maintaining meaningful relationships is vital to your well-being.

Private & Confidential

I offer face-to-face counselling in my private room in Cowes, providing a welcoming and confidential space for you to explore your concerns. My approach is warm, flexible, and tailored to meet your needs in a professional and comfortable setting.

I recognise that starting counselling can feel daunting, and many people worry about what to expect. My aim is to ease that anxiety by creating a relaxed, open environment where you feel comfortable. While sessions are a space for deep conversations, I also believe in the power of laughter and lightness when appropriate, helping you feel at ease as we work through challenges together.

I also understand that seeking counselling in a small community can bring concerns about privacy and confidentiality. At Island Counselling, I uphold the highest ethical and professional standards to ensure your sessions remain completely private. You can feel safe, respected, and heard, knowing that everything we discuss is held in strict confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer counselling in person or online?

Yes — I offer both in-person sessions in Cowes, and online counselling (telehealth) for people across Phillip Island and the wider Bass Coast.

Is online therapy as effective as face-to-face sessions?

Yes. Research shows that telehealth sessions can be just as effective as face-to-face counselling for many people, particularly when it comes to talk-based therapy.

Do you work with individuals, couples, or families?

I primarily work with adults and couples. If you're unsure whether this is the right fit for you, we can discuss your needs in a free 15-minute consultation.

What kinds of issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support you through a wide range of experiences — including relationship challenges, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. But it’s not just for when things feel unmanageable. Many people also use counselling proactively, to build self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, and create meaningful change before problems escalate.

Where are you located?

Island Counselling is based in Cowes, on Phillip Island. I also offer online therapy for people throughout the Bass Coast and beyond.

A Safe Space for Growth, Connection & Healing

ISLAND COUNSELLING, PHILLIP ISLAND

A Bit More About Priscilla

I grew up in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and have always embraced change as a natural part of life. After completing university, I built a successful corporate career, started my own pet food business, then returned to the corporate world before deciding to follow a new path. I completed my Master of Counselling and haven’t looked back. Having navigated many transitions myself, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with change.
With my husband moving into semi-retirement, we made our long-awaited move to Millowl, Phillip Island, where I’m enjoying a more balanced way of living and a stronger connection to the local community. I have two beautiful Old English Sheepdogs who keep me active, and I love getting outdoors with them to explore the island. Staying fit is important to me, and so is balancing time between family, friends, and solitude. I ride a motorcycle and have a passion for MotoGP, love cooking, and enjoy good conversation.
Life is full of transitions, some planned, some unexpected, and I bring both professional expertise and personal experience to my counselling approach, offering a space where you can navigate your own path with confidence, clarity and understanding.
